Eurovision 2017 previews countdown: #39 CROATIA – Jacques Houdek – “My Friend”

We’re back to the Balkans as we head into the 39 to 30 stretch of the countdown. Croatia finished very high in last year’s countdown (an overinflated 6th place) but in the end finished in the bottom 5 of the grand final (though at least they qualified). Will it be the opposite case this year, a low position in this countdown but higher in the actual event? Eurovision 2016 previews countdown: #6 CROATIA – Nina Kraljić – “Lighthouse”

Just missing out on the top 5 by the narrowest of margins is the last of the Balkan countries and a country who we haven’t seen since 2013, but like their neighbours Bosnia, are returning this year – Croatia. They hadn’t missed a contest between their first appearance in 1993 and 2013, but a string of non-qualifications for the final between 2010 and 2013 and financial difficulties led to Croatia’s withdrawal but they’re bouncing back with this entry by Nina Kraljić, sung all in English (quite rare for a Croatian entry). London Eurovision Preview Party 2016 video clips part 3: Zoë, Ovidiu Anton, Nina Kraljić, Michał Szpak and Frans

No less than 5 countries in this next batch of video clips, including the host country, Sweden. Zoë from Austria got a huge ovation, and getting her quite emotional! She came back after Romania’s two performances (which are shown here) to do an accappella reprise of Loin d’ici.
