Eurovision 2017 previews countdown: #2 BELGIUM – Blanche – “City Lights”

In the runner’s up spot, it’s a country that has really refound its Eurovision mojo in the last couple of years. One of Eurovision’s founding countries, Belgium has had a mini-renaissance recently, with several top 10 results, not all of them expected (I certainly wasn’t expecting them to do as well last year!) There are high expectations this year, can the 17-year-old Blanche meet them and bring Belgium another top result?

My top 5 songs from…Belgium

The compass swings back to western Europe for this next top 5. We’ve already done the top  5 for their neighbours, the Netherlands, now it’s Belgium’s turn. They’ve been there since the first Eurovision, and only missed the contest 3 times. With 58 entries to choose from (joint second-highest number of appearances), making this top 5 should be tougher than most.

Eurovision 2016 previews countdown: #30 BELGIUM – Laura Tesoro – “What’s the Pressure”

Next up is a country that has been in Eurovision since its very beginning, and only missed a small number of contests in that long stretch – Belgium. Their entry last year was bold and different and they were rewarded with a very impressive 4th place. This year 19 year old Laura Tesoro takes up the Belgian baton. Can she repeat the success of Loïc Nottet from last year?

Eurovision national finals best of the rest part 4: Austria, Belgium, Spain and United Kingdom

Yesterday we turned East, so tonight for the last instalment of the national finals best of the rest rundown, we turn to the West. To be fair to three of these four countries, I’m very satisfied with the winners from their national finals, but these all are worthy of a shout out.
