Eurovision 2018 previews countdown: #26 SAN MARINO – Jessika feat. Jenifer Brening – “Who We Are”

Up next is Eurovision’s smallest participant, in terms of both population and country size – it’s the microstate San Marino. Many Eurofans don’t seem to appreciate what San Marino bring to the contest, but I certainly do, and despite generally poor results, they’ve stuck with the contest bringing their own mix of craziness and retro with them. What have they got for us this year?!

Eurovision 2018 national selections: from east to west (Poland, Portugal and San Marino previews)

Well, what more can you say – Valentina is back! Yes, the most famous of Sammarinese singers is back for record-equalling fourth time at Eurovision. She’s accompanied by the American musical singer Jimmie Wilson. Can she make it back to the final once again? Continue reading “Eurovision 2017 previews countdown: #37 SAN MARINO – Valentina Monetta & Jimmie Wilson – “Spirit of the Night””

Eurovision 2016 previews countdown: #43 SAN MARINO – Serhat – “I Didn’t Know”

Ah San Marino, someone had to come last in the countdown and I’m afraid it’s the contest’s smallest participant that found least favour with the denizens of YouTube.

It’s quite a “special” entry though and I’m afraid most of the other songs this year take themselves rather too seriously and are a trifle homogenous. Not so with the Sammarinese entry…
