For third preview in a row, we’re in south-east Europe, and it’s a country that has brought us its fair share of Greek-flavoured party bangers over the years. This year however, they’ve moved away from the party banger sound but have very definitely got a Greek-flavoured song. Their last attempt at a non-party banger Greek-flavoured song ld to their first (and to date only) non-qualification to the grand final. Will this fare better?

Completing the Top 5 series is the Mediterranean country that regularly brings party bangers with an ethnic flavour to the contest. The 2000s and early 2010s proved to be glory days for Greece with mostly top 10 results and their first (and still only) win. Such are the numbers of party bangers from Greece that it merits a top 10!

Consistently one of the best performing countries in recent times (from 2004 to 2011, they finished inside the top 10 every year), Greece had a blip last year with their first ever non-qualification. Considering how awful their song was, it perhaps wasn’t a surprise, but with enlisting the chart-topping (in Greece) Demy as their artist, it looks like Greece are aiming to keep last year’s failure as a one-off blip. Will that be case?

Those of you familiar with Eurovision may be very surprised to see this country so far down the list – it’s Greece! After a decade of success which included their sole Eurovision win in 2005 and multiple top 10 finishes, they have struggled a little in the last two years (comparatively anyway) with lower placed finishes, yet they have still made the final and not had any trouble qualifying. Like Romania though, this year their 100% qualification record could be under very serious threat.
