So I’m back from outer space…. Sorry, just getting in the (camp) mood for Brighton Pride but just enough time to squeeze in a mini-update after the traditional Eurovision low season when I have a hiatus from posting on my site. But with Eurovision 2017 now three months in the past, and Wimbledon 2017 (my other great passion) now done and dusted, it’s time to turn thoughts back to updating the site and thinking of next year.
And next year is going to be especially exciting for me and my fellow Eurovision fanatic friends, we’ve booked to go to Lisbon during Eurovision week! I can’t tell you how excited I am about that – it also coincides with my 40th birthday year (well, it’s my 40th in January but this feels like it’s a 40th birthday sort of treat). Staying in a nice apartment in the centre of Lisbon, we’ll be there for the red carpet event, the semis, the final and the day after…
Does this mean we will actually get to go? Well, that remains to be seen – I’m hoping we might get tickets for at least one event, even if it’s a dress rehearsal but will just have to see when the time comes when tickets go on sale!
What will this mean for my website during the height of Eurovision? Well, that could well depend on what (if any) tickets we get – if we get tickets, expect some images, videos and reports from that. However, I will update my site as much as I can as usual – the apartment we are staying in as wifi plus my standard 4G access on my mobile is temporarily at no extra cost within the EU :).
But that all remains many months away, but fear not, I won’t be neglecting the site. I’m going to get back to posting my regular Top 5s as there are still plenty of countries to work through plus I’ll be revisiting the ones I have already posted following this year’s contest.
