This year’s contest marks the 50th appearance of Austria at Eurovision and flying the Austrian flag is the adorable Nathan Trent. Last year’s entrant, Zoë, charmed the both the Eurofandom and the wider public, securing a good result in the grand final. Nathan has been doing as Zoë did and charming crowds at the various Eurovision preview events – can he get a similar good result at the contest?
I really hope he does as he’s a lovely guy, and this is probably my favourite of the male solo ballads. It’s a very positive song and Nathan gives a strong live vocal (just look at his enforced a cappelle version in London!). Just like Zoë, his sweetness and enthusiasm comes across very well live and I think that will stand him in good stead in what could be a tough semi-final to qualify from.
#26 marks the point of the number of grand final entries – however, unlucky for Nathan, 3 automatic qualifiers are in lower positions, which means they would occupy positions 24-26 at the grand final. Let’s hope Nathan gets a chance in the real grand final, as this certainly deserves a place above Germany and Spain.
Mum’s reaction: More positive; “better than most”

He is so professional and lovely. Nathan’s a capella version is stunning.
